Hey there!

Welcome to my UNI Dance Marathon fundraising page! My name is Heidi and I am a junior at the University of Northern Iowa majoring in Interior Design with a minor in Real Estate. I am from lovely Iowa City, which is home to the U of I Stead Children's Hospital, where I'm raising money for, is! The University of Iowa Stead Children's Hospital treats thousands of children each year, regardless of their illness, injury, or even their family's ability to pay. These kids are facing scary stuff like cancer, cystic fibrosis, and other life-threatening illnesses. I am beyond excited and honored to serve as UNI Dance Marathon's Director of Morale- I get to lead 25 of the most passionate and dedicated people as we fight alongside sick kiddos. While this year's Dance Marathon might look a little different, we know that these kids can't wait for the curve to flatten- we are For The Kids all day, every day.

This is me, ready to fight FTK this year :)

Since the beginning, Miracle Network Dance Marathon has raised more than $200 million for kids across North America - ensuring that no child or family fights pediatric illness or injury alone. We are this generation fighting for the next.

At UNI Dance Marathon, students pledge to raise funds and awareness for patient families and the year ends with an 12 hour event (the Dance Marathon), where we’ll get to meet patient families, participate in games and dancing, enjoy entertainment, and reveal the fundraising total from the entire year! Even though the big event is AMAZING, that's not all that UNI Dance Marathon does. Throughout the whole year we'll be meeting with our miracle kiddos, hosting events, and raising money! It's my sincere hope that you'll find it in your heart to support my efforts with a monthly pledge or one-time gift that will go directly to the University of Iowa Stead Children's Hospital. This event is hands down, the best day of the whole year- I still sometimes get teary thinking about the impact we're able to make!

My favorite Big Event memories:

I have enjoyed being a morale captain for the past two years, and have gained so much perspective through my time in that position. I believe kids should get to be kids- and I treasure the personal relationships I've built with families that UNI Dance Marathon has impacted. Morale has brought me some of my best friends, and has made me grow so much as a person and a leader. As I step into my new role as the Director of Morale, I am committed to giving my all to my captains and to our cause.  I have the privilege and honor of leading 25 of the most passionate and driven people I know- they push me to do my best and seeing them push to make a difference in the lives of others has brought me so much joy.

Me & my amazing Assistant Director!

My fun-loving and inspiring crew :)Your donation is tax-deductible and will make miracles happen for families who desperately need them. You can click the "Donate" button at the top of this page to make a safe and easy online contribution. I  dance because I have seen firsthand how childhood illness affects families and the communities they live in. I want to do everything in my power to fight For The Kids, and I need your help to reach my $2,000 goal. Thank you so much for supporting my efforts!

FTK Always!
