Hello Friends!

I'm Annabelle Smith and I am a junior studying English Lit and Art History. My time with UGA Miracle has been the highlight of college life, and it all started when my niece, Hailey Holder Allen, was diagnosed with Stage 4 Alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma (ARMS) on her first birthday. She had multiple tumors growing in the soft tissue around her femurs, and the prognosis was, to be frank, terrifying. She quickly became my inspiration to join the Hospital Relations committee, which gives me the opportunity to serve directly within our hospital, Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, and spend time with the patients during their stay.

Hailey Holder has now finished her grueling frontline treatment, all of which was completed at a Miracle Network Hospital. By the end of this initial treatment, she had completed 54 rounds of chemo, 6 weeks of radiation, and about 50 medically induced sleeps. Hailey Holder is two years old now, and while she has a long road ahead before she can be considered "cured," which includes maintenance chemo, followup treatment, and the high chance of relapse, her journey thus far has been nothing short of a miracle.

My goal for this year comes directly from Hailey Holder's treatment- $5,463.50. 54 weeks of chemo, 6 weeks of radiation, 3 surgeries, and somewhere around 50 sleeps. It sounds like a reach, but with your help, I can and will meet this goal! The saying "Change Kid's Health, Change The Future" will stay with me all year as I raise this money, meet our Miracles, and have a lot of fun doing it. These kids are the future, and with our help, they'll make it a good one.

Go Dawgs and FTK,

Annabelle :)
