FAQS:

The Basics

What is Miracle Network Dance Marathon?

Miracle Network Dance Marathon is a program at Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. It is a student-led, year-round philanthropic movement, uniting students at over 400 colleges, universities and high schools across the United States and Canada. As a fundraising program, each campus’s Miracle Network Dance Marathon organization works throughout the year to raise funds and awareness to change kids’ health and change the future for their Children’s Miracle Network Hospital.

What is Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals?
Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals (CMN Hospitals) raises funds for 170 children’s hospitals that support the health of 10 million kids each year across the U.S. and Canada. Donations go to local hospitals to fund critical life-saving treatments and healthcare services, along with innovative research, vital pediatric medical equipment, child life services that put kids’ and families’ minds at ease during difficult hospital stays, and financial assistance for families who could not otherwise afford these health services.

Why do children’s hospitals need support?

According to the U.S. Census, 4.3 million children under the age of 19 did not have health insurance coverage in 2018 and another 37 million rely on Medicaid, which contributes to a large portion of uncompensated care. In 2019, CMN Hospitals raised more than $444 million, including nearly $81 million benefiting charitable care to support patients in need. About 1 in 20 hospitals is a children’s hospital. As such, CMN Hospitals serve larger geographies than adult hospitals and are faced with an increased burden.

Do I have to dance?

Not if you don’t want to! Miracle Network Dance Marathon is focused on fundraising for local children’s hospitals while allowing students to develop their skills in peer management, delegation, collaboration, and philanthropy....and making friends along the way! Dancing or being a good dancer is not a requirement – but can be part of the fun of Dance Marathon events!

Is Miracle Network Dance Marathon inclusive?

Miracle Network Dance Marathon strives to create an inclusive and accessible environment for all participants. While the program was founded with the notion of dancing, the premise of the program has evolved to ensure participants of all interests and abilities can join in to support their local children’s hospital.

What is Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals doing to advance diversity, equity & inclusion?

At Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, we’re changing the future of pediatric healthcare for communities across North America. We believe that diversity, equity and inclusion are foundational to how we achieve our goal of helping Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals raise more funds in their local communities. That’s why we’ve hired a senior vice president of diversity, equity and inclusion. Through this role and strategic objectives, we will continue to evolve as an organization and work to become a more inclusive community of diverse employees, partners and donors who reflect the communities we serve. We know that our ability to become more diverse, inclusive and equitable will create an environment of respect and shared responsibility; in turn, changing the future for all of our communities.

I received an offline donation. What should I do?

Contact your local Miracle Network Dance Marathon to make sure you follow their policy on accepting cash and check donations. If you’re not sure, check donations can always be mailed to 205 W 700 S, Salt Lake City, UT 84101. Make sure all checks are made out to Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. Add a note that states the Event Name and Participant Name. This way the donations are attributed to the correct event and participants. Always convert cash donations into check form (cashier's checks are preferred) before mailing them!

I can't log into my DonorDrive  account.
Please contact  [email protected] with your name, email, school name.

Donating

Do you accept matching donations?

You can power-up your donation by asking your employer about your company's matching gift program. A lot of organizations sponsor programs that match charitable contributions made by their employees. You may be surprised to find out your company has a matching gift program, too! The HR department is a great place to start. If they ask, you can download our TAX ID, 501(c)(3) status, or W-9 form here.

What do I do if I'm having issues donating?
Please contact [email protected] with the method you're using to donate, the amount, and a link to the page you're trying to donate to.

Incentives

How do I know if I check if I qualify for a fundraising incentive?
You can check which incentives you qualify for here.

Where is my incentive for fundraising a certain amount?

If you reached the appropriate fundraising milestone within the timeframe for the incentive, you should have received an email with instructions on how to redeem. If you didn't, check your spam folder. If you have a ".edu" email address registered to your DonorDrive account, the email was more than likely blocked by the institution's server. Please contact [email protected] with your name, the email used for your DonorDrive account, and the incentive you are inquiring about.

I'm eligible for a fundraising incentive, but I still haven't received any information on how to redeem.
You can check which incentives you qualify for here. If you are eligible and haven't received an email, please email [email protected] with your name, email, school name. If you're not emailing from the address registered on your DonorDrive account, please provide that, too.
