FOURTH AND FINAL YEAR!!

Wow. 3 years down and only 1 to go. Everyone always told me it will be gone before I knew it and I never believed them. But then I blinked and here I am as a senior.

My years at IUPUI have been amazing. With changing majors, adding a major, getting amazing jobs, and meeting some of my best friends. Nothing will ever compare though to my years with Jagathon. I truly cannot put into words what this organization has done for me. To assist me with trying to put it into perspective for everyone, follow along with some of my favorite pictures. Bear with me, it might be a long one.

Freshman year I joined the Family Relations committee. Here I was able to meet some of our amazing families and met one of my best friends, Kori (picture from freshman year). Kori brought me in as a freshman and is the person who pushed me to be an exec member for Jagathon. I remember standing by the stage during the reveal of $501,371 freshman year and telling myself that I wanted to do more the next year and get more involved with Jagathon, which is exactly what I did.

Sophomore year I knew I wanted to be in Family Relations again but this year as a chair. Again, Kori was my director and pushed me to do more. I was given the position as the Family Events Chair and planned our family events. I can still remember that August Kori calling me and telling me I should consider applying for the executive positon of Family Relations for the next year and thinking she was crazy! Then at the event and seeing the total of $605,178, I knew that Kori was right about applying for exec.

I listened to Kori and applied for the executive board for Jagathon 2020. I was very honored and thankful to serve as the Director of Family Relations! This year was AMAZING! I spent an entire year with my new best friends on the exec board and the membership committee. We truly spent so much time together and I wouldn't change anything about our time.

I had so much fun throughout the year! From Addy teaching me different hand clapping songs to singing Frozen with Tim at the pageant.

This year finally came together to the main event of Jagathon 2020. 15 hours of standing, raising money for pediatric research, laughing, crying, dancing, and everything in between. I was honored to stand on the main stage and introduce our AWESOME families as the event started. I was privileged enough to be on the stage with Adrian when he sang Frozen II Into the Unknown and I had a front row spot to cheer for Kristopher as he CRUSHED his Michael Jackson performance.

I cried with my best friends as we heard heartfelt stories from families as they motivated us to keep going and keep pushing. I cried with my best friend Libby when we saw our total reveal. And I of course cried as we raised the total of $607,870!

My fourth and final year is finally here. This year I am honored to serve as the Director of Public Relations for Jagathon 2021. This year I am pushing myself to raise more than I have any other year and I need your help to get me there! Also, thank you if you made it this long while I was on my tangent about my love for Jagathon. All of the tears, stress, and long hours working are all worth it for the memories made, money given to pediatric research, and the lifelong friendships. One final year and I am going to make it the Best. One. Yet. Here is to Jagathon 2021.

FTK (for the kids) Always,

Megan
