Hey Y'all!!

I am so thrilled to announce that I am officially on my 4th year of staff with Auburn University Dance Marathon. This year I have the privilege of being a Morale Captain again but this year on Green team. For those of you have donated to me in past years I can not thank you enough I wouldn't be able to this without y'all!

	How I got involved I had no idea what Dance Marathon was when I got to college but at my freshman orientation we had an opportunity to browse different involvement opportunities here on Auburn's campus and for some reason I felt God pulling me to look into AUDM. I asked my counselor what it was and she told me "Dance Marathon is a year long fundraising organization that raises money for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. All year long we get to meet these wonderful families we are raising money for and at the end of the year there is a 14 hour celebration event to raise money and celebrate all the hard work that has been done during that year." As a pre-nursing student whose dream is to work in Pedi's this sounded perfect to me. When I applied I still didn't really know what AUDM was but I was so excited to learn!
	What is my "why"? Over the past 3 years in this organization my "why" has evolved so much. This summer I had the amazing opportunity to go to Dance Marathon Leadership Conference and at the conference we go the opportunity to meet tons of other people from other DMs around the country. This organization has given me a place on campus where I can 100% be me. What keeps me coming back every year is the amazing people on staff with me as well as the families we get to serve. In my opinion this organization does the best job of putting the (main reason) families first and making sure to remind us every week why we do this. At the beginning of every meeting no matter how much info we have to cover we hear a story from one of our Miracle Families about how thankful they are for us and how we have made a difference in their lives. I love the reminder as to why I am doing this!
	Donations stay local to help kids in our community Our hospital that we raise money for is Columbus Piedmont Regional Hospital which is about 30 minuets north of Auburn. In the years I have been on staff we have raised over $724,700. That money has been used to help our hospitals NICU in so many ways one of those ways being that this year we were able to purchase a new Neonatal Transport Ambulance for the hospital. I can't wait to see what else we can do for the kids this year!
