Hey There!

Hi I'm Cailey Dotson! This year is my fourth year participating in Dance Marathon. Dance Marathon is a program where we raise money for the kids at Arnie Palmer Hospital that are involved in Children's Miracle Network. These are kids that are in dire need of our help because the resources and tools that they need to help them get as strong and healthy as possible are very expensive. My job as a participant in Dance Marathon is to do my part, and raise as much money as I can, both individually and with my school, in order to provide these kids with as much as possible. Over the passed 4 years, my school has raised over $300,000, which is absolutely amazing. This year I have been blessed with the privilege to be on the Dance Marathon Executive Board at my school. This means that I am a part of the group of students that sets up the main event as well as the little spirit nights and social events where the proceeds go towards Dance Marathon. I am honored to be given the Morale position on the Executive Board this year. As a morale leader, I am one of the students who gets to create the song and choreograph the dance that is played every hour on the hour at the actual Dance Marathon event. The dance is used as a way to get people excited and get more people involved in the event. This is an amazing position for me to be gifted with because I am very passionate about this event and I am good at encouraging others to get excited and motivated. My peers and I have worked very hard this year to make a song and dance that is fun and uplifting for everyone! 

My "why" for doing this event is truly because I think that the kids that are apart of Children's Miracle Network deserve a better life and we can help give that to them. The first year that I went to Dance Marathon at Windermere High School, I was greatly inspired. Throughout my years of doing Dance Marathon at Windermere, I have learned so much about Children's Miracle Network and everything that goes into helping these amazingly strong kids who are fighting for a better life. There are so many kids out there who could use some help in order to provide funding for all of the resources and tools that are needed to make them healthier and help them tremendously. This year I am very passionate about putting my all into Dance Marathon and doing everything I can to help these kids because they deserve everything they want out of life!!
